Saints Fall in Tight Road Contest Against Taylor

UPLAND, Ind. – In a hard-fought matchup that featured five lead changes and plenty of high-energy moments, the Holy Cross College men's basketball team fell just short against Taylor University on Thursday night, dropping an 82–78 decision on the road.

Freshman guard Donovan Waleskowski led the Saints with an explosive performance, recording a game-high 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including 6-for-10 from three-point range. Waleskowski heated up in both halves and kept Holy Cross in the game late with a clutch three to narrow the gap to 80–78 inside the final minute.

Beau Barhams was all over the court, nearly achieving a double-double with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and a game-high 7 assists. Barhams also displayed hustle on defense, leading the team with one steal and several key defensive rebounds.

Junior Jayden Sanders added 15 points and brought balance to the backcourt, converting 7-of-9 free throws and dishing out four assists.

Holy Cross held a slim lead at the 4:37 mark of the second half, but Taylor's late-game execution, including key three-pointers from Izaiah Day and Chaz Harvey, ultimately sealed the win for the home team.

The Saints finished with just 6 turnovers, showing improved ball security, but the Trojans' efficiency from deep (42.9%) proved crucial.

With the loss, Holy Cross drops to 4-2 on the season as they prepare to return home for conference play next week. The Saints will host Trinity Christian on Tuesday at 7:30 PM in the Pfeil Center.
