Six Men's Golfers Recognized as NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes

Kansas City, Mo. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently announced their 2023 Daktronics Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes. Holy Cross College had six men's golf student-athletes named Scholar-Athletes of the 375 recipients nationwide.

In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at the institution.

Seniors Blaise Morris, Brevin Slusher, Carter Silva, and sophomores Dillan Mori, Gianni Petrillo, and Mikey Chase were named 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes.

Blaise Morris was named a Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive year. The senior carried an 82.9 stroke average through nine rounds this season.

Brevin Slusher earned his second Scholar-Athlete distinction. The senior had five top-25 finishes this year, while carrying a 79.5 average.

Carter Silva was named a Scholar-Athlete for the fourth consecutive year. This season, he had six top-15 finishes and placed 3rd in the CCAC Championship.

Dillan Mori earned his first Scholar-Athlete award. The sophomore carried a 84.6 stroke average through nine rounds this season.

Gianni Petrillo was named a Scholar-Athlete. He carried an 85.3 stroke average this year.

Mikey Chase was awarded a Scholar-Athlete distinction, while having a 84.9 averaged for the season.

The men's golf finished in second place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday, April 25.
