Notre Dame, Ind. — The Holy Cross College men's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Senior Night, defeating Calumet College 12-0 at Saints Field. The Saints improved to 5-4 overall and a perfect 2-0 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the win.
From the opening whistle, Holy Cross controlled the match, scoring nine goals in the first half. Xavier Fox set the tone early with a goal in the 3rd minute, and went on to complete a first-half hat trick. Daniel Alfaro followed with three goals of his own, while Kai Lulic, Nikolas Panayiotou, Niko Kunz, and Dominic Castillo each added to the scoring barrage before halftime.
The Saints continued to press in the second half, adding three more goals. Daniel Alfaro completed his hat trick in the 59th minute, while Isaac Contreras struck twice late to seal the 12-0 victory. In total, 10 different Saints registered either a goal or assist, showcasing the team's depth and unselfish play.
Defensively, goalkeeper Isaias Rubio and the backline limited Calumet to just two shots on the night, recording the clean sheet.
Holy Cross outshot Calumet 51-2 and earned nine corner kicks in the dominant conference win.
The evening also celebrated the Saints' seniors — Michael Miller, Isa Sayeed, Isaias Rubio, Tristan Alfaro, and team manager Nyne Ono — honoring their dedication and contributions to the program.
The Saints will look to carry this momentum forward as they continue play next week when they travel to Loyola University on September 30th. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM
