Saints Battle Back but Come Up Short Against Cleary

The Holy Cross Saints battled throughout the night but came up short on Tuesday, falling 72–60 to Cleary inside Gannon Gymnasium.

After a slow start put the Saints in an early hole, Holy Cross responded with steady adjustments and a strong fourth-quarter push, outscoring the Cougars 21–17 in the final frame. Despite the late momentum, the early Cleary lead proved too much to overcome.

Allie Caldwell led the Saints with an impressive 22-point performance, adding seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Kaiden Hanley turned in a productive night with nine points and nine rebounds, while Audrey Tallent added seven points and a team-high four assists. Off the bench, Brock Bittermann provided a significant spark, finishing with seven points and 11 rebounds.

Holy Cross won key statistical categories, including 17 second-chance points and 18 points off the bench, while also pulling down 16 offensive rebounds. Defensively, the Saints forced 18 turnovers and tallied 10 steals.

Cleary capitalized on early offensive efficiency and 22 fast-break points to maintain control throughout the game. Holy Cross continued to chip away, closing the gap to single digits with just over a minute remaining, but the comeback effort ran out of time.

The Saints move to 5–6 on the season and will look to regroup as they prepare for their next matchup at home on Saturday December 13th against Viterbo. Tipoff is at 1pm!
