The Holy Cross women's basketball team fell on the road Wednesday night, dropping a 99–71 game to conference opponent St. Francis (IL) at the Pat Sullivan Center.
St. Francis set the tone early, jumping out to a 23–15 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 51–34 at halftime. The hosts continued to shoot efficiently in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 77–46 heading into the final period. Holy Cross battled through the fourth quarter, outscoring St. Francis 25–22 over the final 10 minutes, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome

Allie Caldwell finished with 14 points, while Brock Bittermann also chipped in 14 off the bench to pace Holy Cross's reserve scoring. Malea Steele added 5 points and 2 rebounds, as the Saints received 21 points from their bench overall
Holy Cross shot 37.5% from the field and 22.7% from three-point range, while St. Francis connected on 50.8% of its shots and hit 15 three-pointers in the contest. The Saints held advantages in points off turnovers (19–13) and second-chance points (12–8), but were outpaced by St. Francis' depth and perimeter shooting
With the loss, Holy Cross moves to 12–10 overall and 8–6 in conference play. The Saints will look to bounce back as they continue CCAC action next week, at home, on Thursday, February 5th. Tipoff is 6:30PM!
