Bio
Abby Clark was named the head coach of the Holy Cross College women’s golf program in November 2023. A proud 2019 graduate of Holy Cross, Clark returned to her alma mater to lead the Saints into a new era of growth and achievement. She made an immediate impact in her first season, guiding the team to a historic tournament victory in Spring 2024—the program’s first team win in over a decade.
A former student-athlete herself, Clark competed for the Saints during her undergraduate years and brings firsthand experience of what it means to be part of the Holy Cross golf family.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give our players the same competitive and well-rounded experience I had as a student-athlete here. Holy Cross shaped me in so many ways, and it’s an honor to now help shape the next generation.”
Originally from Mesa, Arizona, Clark has made South Bend her home after meeting her husband, Nick, a local. She is the first dedicated head coach for the women’s golf program, the first female head coach in the program’s history, and the only female head golf coach in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC).
Clark is focused on building a strong foundation for long-term success. Her goals include growing the roster to increase internal competition, taking the team to more challenging and exciting courses, and emphasizing team bonding, service, and character development off the course. She believes that a connected and values-driven team culture is just as important as performance on the leaderboard.
“I want my players to be good people, good students, and good golfers—in that order. Prioritizing character in recruiting has been key to our success both on and off the course.”
Under her leadership, the Saints are not only achieving new milestones on the leaderboard but also growing as leaders, teammates, and scholars.
