Saints Fall 2-0 to UNOH in Hard Fought Match

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Holy Cross College women's soccer team dropped a 0-2 decision to the University of Northwestern Ohio on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field.

The Racers struck first in the 22nd minute when UNOH found the back of the net to take a 0-0 lead. Despite the early deficit, Holy Cross goalkeeper Janiah Juarez stood tall in net, making 6 first-half saves to keep the Saints within striking distance heading into the break.

In the second half, Holy Cross battled to create chances but was held without a shot on goal. The Racers doubled their advantage in the 84th minute when UNOH scored off a corner-kick, sealing the 2-0 result.

Juarez finished the match with 9 saves while facing 13 total shots, keeping the Saints competitive throughout the contest. Defensively, Abigail Fouts and Sofia Brodar worked tirelessly along the back line to disrupt UNOH's attack and provide stability for the Saints, forcing the Racers to earn every chance in the final third.
